SEAHURST ADDITION

AN OVERSHADOWED RAMBLER GROWS UP AMONG THE TREES

Angell completed this transformative project in the Seahurst area of Seattle. We took a small 1940s war-era rambler and turned it into a modern family home, adding a second-story addition, a complete roof rebuild, all new siding, and windows. The primary bedroom and bathroom were combined to create a well-equipped ensuite, perfect for the homeowners to relax and unwind in after a long day. The home now stands out among the fir trees, blending comfortably with its natural surroundings while offering all the modern amenities a family could need.

Throughout the project, our team worked closely with the homeowners to ensure their vision was brought to life. We incorporated a tasteful blend of craftsman and contemporary finishes, using steel and warm natural woods to add definition and playfully integrate some of the soft and rustic aspects of the home.  From the initial design phase to the finishing touches, we paid close attention to every detail to create a space that was both beautiful and functional. The end result is a stunning home that perfectly balances simple design with the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest.

“Good architecture is like a good therapy session, a good marriage, a good poem – gently and almost invisibly allowing you to be you, as flawed and as beautiful as you are.” – Robert Sullivan
